Who We Are
The Puget Sound Chapter of the Project Management Institute is part of an international non-profit professional organization dedicated to advancing project management excellence through professionalism. WIth more than 133, 000 members, PMI is the leading worldwide project management association. The Puget Sound Chapter is among the largest of its Chapters in the United States.
To become a member of PMI there are really two membership issues:
- Membership in PMI International
- Membership in the local chapter (Puget Sound Chapter)
A Chapter member must be a PMI International member. A PMI International member does not have to be a Chapter member, so, all membership is handled through PMI International.
Membership Application
You can join the Project Management Institute and the local chapter by applying online at http://www.pmi.org/. If you have questions about joinging PMI or about your membership, you may first try the Membership section of our FAQ page, then call the local Chapter office at Association Services, (206) 623-8632, or send an email message to Membership.
Annual Dues
Dues are $149.00 per year in the following breakdown:
- $119.00 for PMI International Membership
- $30.00 for Puget Sound Chapter Membership
- There is a $10.00 application fee for new members.
- In addition to PMI/Chapter membership, there are various Special Interest Groups (SIGs) with dues ranging from $10.00 to $20.00 per year. See SIG info on the corporate Web site.
Puget Sound Chapter Membership for students is only $10.00 per year, in addition to the $30.00 PMI International Student Fee
Updating Membership Information
Have you moved recently? International Membership information can be updated on the Web. Log onto http://www.pmi.org/ and go to the PMI Members area. You will need to log on with your PMI Corporate member id and password. If you have not received, or have forgotten your member password, please contact the PMI Customer Service department at 610-356-4600 or pmihq@pmi.org. The chapter does not maintain the login and password for your PMI Corporate account.
Did you change your chapter affiliation? PMI chapter dues are not transferable, nor prorated. To become a Puget Sound Chapter Member, follow the information provided above under Membership Application. PMI International manages annual membership dues. As International SIG and Chapter renewals are collected, funds transferred to the appropriate component at that time.
